I did it!

After 5 years of thinking and trying, I finally got accepted into a Ph.D. program in Epidemiology at UNC Chapel Hill.

Two years ago, I applied to the same program and received a rejection. So, an acceptance without an interview caught me off guard.

The craziest thing of all, I received an acceptance letter on my B-day!

As I look back on my journey since Tanzania, not a single step was waste. Every step of the way somehow got interconnected and led me to where I am today and what I will become one day.

It wasn’t an easy journey and I do not wish anyone to repeat my footstep.

But, if I had to do it all over again, I will still make the same decision.

So, here it goes! A future social epidemiologist!!!
